Teen Popeyes Employee Sells Weed on the Clock and Shoots at Buyer in Deal Gone Wrong: Police
Harris County authorities responded to the shooting at the Humble fast food restaurant, where they said the teen employee was selling marijuana on the clock
A teenage employee at a Texas Popeyes was arrested after he shot at someone during a drug sale gone wrong, police said.
Harris County constables responded to the shooting Wednesday afternoon at the Humble restaurant, where they said the employee, believed to be 17 years old, was selling marijuana on the clock, KPRC-TV reported.
The employee was actively selling drugs at the fast food restaurant through the drive-thru, authorities told the television station.
The teenager, who had worked at Popeyes for under a month, fired a gun at least seven times during the dinner rush when he and a customer got into a fight in the bathroom during a drug deal, the outlet reported.
Police said while working the cash register or drive-thru, the employee would give customers who smelled like marijuana a phone number to let them know he sold drugs.
No one was injured in the shooting, police said.
