Who Is Jeff Libler, the Man Who Had an Affair With Suzanne Morphew, and Where Is He Now?
The remains of missing Colorado mom Suzanne Morphew were found last week, law enforcement announced Wednesday
The remains of Suzanne Morphew were found last week, law enforcement announced Wednesday, renewing interest in the missing married mom’s case and the details of her life and marriage.
Morphew’s remains were discovered Friday by law enforcement officials, who were conducting an unrelated search in the area of Moffat, Colorado. Morphew, then 49, disappeared on Mother’s Day in 2020 after leaving her home for a bike ride and never returning.
Since Morphew’s disappearance, unsealed court records revealed that the woman was having an affair with a former high school classmate, Jeff Libler. Investigators didn’t learn about the affair until about six months after Morphew disappeared, CBS News reported.
Morphew and Libler had an affair for about two years before her death while he lived in Michigan, the outlet reported. Libler, who was married with six children, never approached authorities about the affair and later told investigators he didn’t want the extramarital relationship to mar Morphew’s reputation.
Authorities interviewed the affair partner in November 2020, when Libler told investigators his phone had been destroyed, the Denver Gazette reported.
Investigators later recovered LinkedIn messages where the couple discussed meeting on at least six occasions out of state and confirmed their sexual relationship, CBS News reported. They also discussed getting married and moving to Ecuador once Morphew left her husband.

Records unsealed in June contained messages the two sent each other on LinkedIn and WhatsApp. According to the Denver newspaper, Morphew allegedly wrote to Libler: “Nobody loves you...like the way I do. I crave time with you. I crave the feeling I get when we connect. Physically or emotionally. You’re my guy. Always.”
While on a date with her husband, Morphew also told Libler, “You’re the only real love I’ve known...the only love I want.”
It’s unclear where Libler is today. A search by The Messenger couldn’t locate any Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn accounts appearing to belong to Libler.
Authorities previously said Libler wasn’t a suspect in Morphew’s disappearance.
