Suspect in Charlotte Sena Abduction Charged With Kidnapping
Craig Ross Jr. arraigned overnight, will be held without bail
Craig Ross Jr. was charged with first-degree kidnapping with the intent to collect ransom during a court appearance early Tuesday morning.
Ross, 46, is being held without bail at the Saratoga County Jail in connection with the abduction of Charlotte Sena, the 9-year-old New York girl who vanished while riding her bike in a state park Saturday.
The New York State Police say that additional charges are expected.
Sena was the subject of an Amber Alert and Ross was arrested Monday in connection with her disappearance, police said.
Hundreds of searchers had scoured a nearly 50-mile search area in the frantic hunt for Sena.
Police ultimately found her after searching multiple residences where the suspect was known to live, including one located roughly 13 miles south of where Sena lived in the hamlet of Porters Corners.
Gov. Kathy Hochul said Monday night during a news conference that investigators were able to identify a fingerprint from a ransom note allegedly left by the suspect she identified as Craig Nelson Ross Jr., 46.
