Ten people were detained and an NYPD officer was injured when protesters tried to block a bus carrying migrants to a shelter on Staten Island Tuesday evening.

About 75 people were demonstrating outside of a shelter in the Midland Beach neighborhood and some tried to block a city bus, according to the Staten Island Express.

One man faces numerous charges including assault on a police officer after an NYPD officer suffered lacerations and a knee injury while trying to arrest him. The NYPD identified him as 48-year-old Badim Blyakob.

The officer was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

The other nine people face disorderly conduct charges.

The NYPD continued to block the street in front of the shelter Wednesday morning.

There have been numerous protests on Staten Island this month by residents who don’t want migrant shelters anywhere in the borough.

New York City is dealing with more than 110,000 new migrants, including many who have been bused to the city by Texas officials.
