A beautiful 8-foot albino golden child reticulated python has been captured in an Oklahoma City trailer park.

Residents of the Burntwood trailer park are said to have caught the snake after finding it under a trash bin. Maintenance workers at the trailer park then put it in a clothes hamper and taped it shut, according to a local animal sanctuary.

Snakes Alive Exotics Rescue and Sanctuary shared on social media this week that it had obtained the large ophidian “before it got too cold for him to survive.”

According to Snakes Alive, the python has a respiratory infection due to the cold weather it's been experiencing. The sanctuary added that it would try to keep everyone updated as the snake undergoes rehab.

Another exotic animal advocacy group, the Oklahoma Exotics Rescue & Sanctuary, says that the python was caught in the community of Burntwood. It apparently had been living off a diet of neighborhood cats since at least June, when the snake was first reported sighted.

However, after being caught, the python appeared to have “not eaten any cats or any other wild animals recently,” according to Oklahoma Exotics.

The Oklahoma rescue and sanctuary also asked everyone to “raise awareness” about how cold weather can be harmful and fatal to animals.

“Please, raise awareness, the winter months are upon us, if you can't keep an animal or have no way to feed or house them — please just call on us,” the Oklahoma sanctuary said. “It's ALWAYS confidential.”
