$15K Reward Offered for Arrest in Murder of Synagogue President Samantha Woll After Police Release First Suspect
The first suspect's statements were too vague to lead to a definitive murder charge, sources told local media
A $15,000 reward is on offer for information which leads to the arrest of the person suspected of killing Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll almost a month ago.
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is putting up the cash after a suspect in the case was released without charges over the weekend, a few days after his arrest. Sources told local media that the suspect's statements were too "ambiguous" to lead to a murder charge.
Woll, 40, was found stabbed to death outside her home on October 21. She had left a party in the early hours of the morning in good spirits — but police found her body on her doorstep around six hours later.
The Detroit Police Department has insisted that Woll's death was not an antisemitic hate crime, but has kept much of the details of its investigation quiet.
“The homicide investigation into Samantha Woll's tragic murder is ongoing," the department said Tuesday. "Despite recent developments, DPD’s Homicide Unit remains committed to presenting a comprehensive set of facts for submission to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
"We appeal to the community for any information and appreciate your patience as investigators thoroughly examine every aspect of this case."
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-Speak Up, or by submitting a tip online.
