Rachel Morin's family is planning to distribute thousands of flyers around Los Angeles in their latest effort to find the person suspected of murdering the Maryland mother of five in August.

"We are getting the flyers out this week and are optimistic someone in the neighborhood will recognize the suspect," Randolph Rice, an attorney for Morin's family, told The Messenger on Monday.

The flyers will have information about Morin, 37, whose body was found along the Ma & Pa Heritage hiking trail in Maryland in early August.

DNA collected from the crime scene matched a suspect linked to a residential break-in and assault in Los Angeles. Security footage from the incident showed a person authorities believe is a Hispanic male in his early to mid-20s, standing at approximately 5-foot-9-inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.

Rice said they hope the flyers will reach 10,000 homes near the Los Angeles crime scene, which means over 58,000 people could see the information.

"Someone in that community knows him, and we are hopeful they have the courage to speak up and identify the suspect," Rice told The Messenger.

"We are trying every tactic to keep the story alive and get that image in front of as many people as possible to catch him before he kills again," he adds.

While speaking to The Messenger last month, Morin's brother Michael said of the footage that "someone that knows [the suspect] has seen that video and recognized him, but they haven't said something."

In October, an anonymous donor helped increase the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case to $30,000, just days after it leapt from $10,000 to $20,000.

As of Monday, the Harford County Sheriff's Office had no updates on the case, which has so far led authorities to areas outside of Maryland and Los Angeles, such as Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The sheriff said that early in their investigation, they passed out bilingual flyers around Los Angeles, similar to what Morin's family is doing this week.

"At this time, the family of Rachel is moving forward with a similar initiative to continue blanketing the area with flyers," a sheriff's office spokesperson told The Messenger.

"We are aware of their tireless efforts to keep the momentum of the investigation moving forward and assist the HCSO," they continued. "We are appreciative of their continued efforts to find Rachel’s killer."

Per WJZ, the family will use the USPS Targeted Mailing Program to distribute the flyers.
