The Archdiocese confirmed the search to Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger.

The accused is neither a priest nor a pastoral worker, according to the Archdiocese.

The employee allegedly has theological training and works for the diocese administration.

The Archdiocese of Cologne is said to be cooperating with the investigation.

The Archdiocese of Cologne was the subject of a disturbing investigation released two years ago.

The report found evidence of a "systematic cover-up" related to how the archbishop at the time handled accusations of sexual abuse by clergy members.
