Authorities in Nevada are searching for a possible foot fetishist who has been prowling hotel rooms around the popular Lake Tahoe area.

Cops are on the hunt for an intruder who entered a Lake Tahoe-area resort early on Sunday and Monday mornings, caressing the feet of at least two female guests.

The women were staying at a WorldMark by Wyndham, a timeshare in Zephyr Cove, near the California-Nevada border.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the female guests told police they awoke to an intruder inside their rooms, "fondling their feet."

The sex of the intruder was not provided by police.

"Once the female guests woke up, the intruder left the room via the exterior sliding screen door," a police statement indicates.

Investigators note that the victim's rooms were "on the ground floor."

Police believe the suspect entered their rooms via unsecured exterior screen doors and made a beeline for their feet.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with information pertinent to this case contact them at (775) 586-7253.

"In the meantime, residents and guests staying in the Lake Tahoe area are reminded to secure all exterior doors to their homes/rented rooms," concludes the statement.
