A Kentucky mother and nurse who recently became a quadruple amputee is continuing to show her journey of recovery as she gets "one day closer to the finish line."

Lucinda "Cindy" Mullins, 41, originally had gone to the hospital to treat a kidney stone, but ended up with sepsis from an infection and had to have her hands and legs amputated.

She has remained optimistic despite her circumstances and has been seeing an influx of support from her community in Lexington, Kentucky, and beyond.

On Saturday, a GoFundMe set up to benefit Mullins and her family shared three new photos of her recovery, writing that she is “one day closer to the finish line.”

Mullins previously told LEX18 News that she is thankful to have survived her ordeal and that, as a nurse, she knew to remain calm and move forward after waking up to the life-changing news.

"I just said these are the cards I've been dealt and these are the hands I'm going to play," Mullins said. "I'm just so happy to be alive. I get to see my kids. I get to see my family. I get to have my time with my husband. Those are minor things at this point."

As of Saturday evening, the GoFundMe set up for Mullins and her family has reached over $210,000 and is headed towards its goal of $250,000. A listed top donation from Central Seal, a general contractor company in Danville, Kentucky says the business donated $10,000 to the nurse.

Many of the donations made to Mullins on GoFundMe cheer on her recovery and wish her the best.
