Philadelphia Mass Shooting Victim Was Set to Walk Daughter Down Wedding Aisle This Weekend
Another victim's sister yelled at the suspect 'Why didn't you take yourself away!?' in an emotional Wednesday press confererence
One of the five people killed in the mass shooting in Philadelphia Monday was supposed to walk his eldest daughter down the aisle at her wedding this weekend.
Ralph Moralis, 59, was killed Monday night when suspect Kimbrady Carriker, 40, allegedly randomly shot and killed him and four others.
Carriker, who allegedly donned a bulletproof vest and a ski mask during the rampage, is being held without bail, police said Wednesday, and is facing five counts of first-degree murder charges and other charges related to the Kingsessing neighborhood shooting.
"He was a regular dude, a good person. He’s really going to be missed,” Moralis’ ex-partner of 25 years Tamika Veney told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "He did well by his family.”
The family of another victim, Joseph Wamah, Jr, spoke at a press conference held on Wednesday by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, growing emotional when talking about their brother’s killer.
“I still can’t believe that my brother is gone and I just don’t understand why this happened. He was a kind soul, he was nice to everyone, he was good to everyone,” one of his sisters said. “He was gorgeous inside and out. I’m gonna miss that beautiful smile, I really am. He had the best hugs.”
“I’m just really pissed off, why did you have to do this to my brother," she added. "You took him away. You took an angel away from us."

Then, Wamah's other sister interjected. “Why didn’t you take yourself away?” she said, addressing Carriker. “Why didn’t you just kill your f—ing self?”
“I have nothing but anger, there’s nothing but anger, I’m sorry,” the second sister added. “You killed the wrong person, you killed the wrong man.”
Carriker’s motive, if known, has not been released by police, and police said the suspect did not appear to know any of the victims.
Police sources told the Inquirer that after the shooting, Cariker told police the rampage was meant to address gun violence because “all these guys are out there killing people.” Carriker also allegedly said that "Yahweh," or God, would be sending people to address the city’s gun violence issues.
Carriker, who had been armed with an AR-style rifle and ghost handgun, also told the officers at the scene of the shooting they did a good job, sources told the paper.
The rampage was Philadelphia's deadliest shooting since 2000 when seven people were killed in a drug house.
