Two days after a guest at the Ritz Hotel in Paris reported an expensive ring missing to police, hotel staff found the ring in a vacuum cleaner bag.

The $806,192 (€750,000) ring was reported missing Friday by a Malaysian businesswoman who left the jewelry on a table in her room before heading out to do some sightseeing and noticed it missing when she returned.

While details weren’t available on how staff discovered it, Ritz security guards say they found the ring in a vacuum cleaner bag on Sunday, Le Parisien reported.

“We would like to thank the staff at the Ritz Paris who mobilized for this search and who work each day with integrity and professionalism,” the hotel told Le Parisien. The hotel also shared that the businesswoman was happy to have her ring returned.

According to The Guardian, the incident is not the first time expensive jewelry has gone missing at the hotel in Place Vendôme.

An unnamed member of the Saudi royal family reported jewelry theft of about $860,000 from her suite in 2018, and months earlier five armed men made off with millions of dollars worth of jewels from display windows inside the hotel.
