Palm Beach Threatens to Curb Mar-a-Lago Events Over Traffic Mess
Palm Beach Town Council President Margaret Zeidman warned the club: 'Either get your act together, or we will get it together for you'
After an event at former President Donald Trump's Palm Beach Estate Mar-A-Lago on Monday caused bumper-to-bumper traffic on South Ocean Boulevard, Town Council President Margaret Zeidman is threatening to limit events if traffic issues continue.
"Either get your act together, or we will get it together for you," Zeidman said at a Town Council meeting early this week.
“If in the end we have to restrict, if we can, their events, then we will do so," she vowed.
Trump's club recently hosted two fundraising events for the former president bringing in nearly $6 million, according to Politico. One of these events, on Oct. 26, was delayed for 30 minutes because of traffic congestion, which Zeidman cited at the Town Council meeting.
"No guests were allowed into Mar-a-Lago until the traffic was alleviated," Palm Beach Police Chief Nicholas Caristo Caristo said at the event, reported the Palm Beach Daily News. "We're not going to tolerate it."
The Mar-a-Lago Traffic Management Plan, which was coordinated between the club and the town and revised and May, requires any incoming traffic to the club to be limited to the northbound lane, according to the newspaper.

If the policy is not followed, "any vehicle stacking" uup on southbound South Ocean Boulevard blocks all through traffic not heading to to Mar-a-Lago.
There were no motions passed at the Town Council meeting regarding the traffic debate. But the Council plans to revisit the issue on Dec. 12.
