A small town in Ireland was the undisputed Dolly Parton capital of the world for one day last weekend.

According to the Irish Examiner, the town of Listowel in Kerry, Ireland, invited hundreds of fans to dress up as Dolly Parton to set a world record during "Dolly Day" on Saturday.

Over 1,100 participants gathered in a Listowel soccer field wearing Dolly Parton costumes — primarily made up of blonde wigs, cowboy boots, and western-style hats — to raise funds for two local charities: Kerry Hospice and Comfort for Chemo Kerry.

Images from the day can be seen on the event's official Facebook page.

Per news station WFLA, participants had to be “instantly recognizable” as Dolly Parton in order to qualify for the Guinness World Record.

Eugene Naughton, a Limerick native and one of the presidents of Dollywood, an amusement park co-owned by Parton in Tennessee, also attended the event.

"She's really awesome, I'm kid number seven, with five older sisters, and I often tell people she's exactly like talking to one of my older sisters," Naughton told the Irish Examiner of Parton.

"We have a lot of fun talking about big dreams for the future and where we're headed as a business," he added. "That's where she spends a lot of time and effort."

Naughton said he planned to share pictures from the event with Parton to entice her to visit the town.

Dolly Parton has a strong connection to Ireland and has donated numerous books to children in the country through her library program, per the outlet.

It will take several weeks to determine if the event set a world record.
