Oklahoma Donut Shop Threw Revenge Drag Event to Celebrate Hate Crime Conviction, Sentencing of Man Who Firebombed Store
The Donut Hole was forced to close after its first drag event in October 2022 when vandals attacked the store in two separate incidents.
A donut shop in Tulsa held a celebration after an arsonist was sentenced to five years in federal prison after he threw a Molotov cocktail at their storefront for holding a drag event — with a second drag event.
Lines were out the door at The Donut Hole on Saturday as the shop in the Brookside neighborhood gave out 700 free donuts during an event called "The Queens Dirty Dozens," according to a report from News On 6.
"Today is about giving out donuts to the community and making it clear that we're here and we're everywhere," said Josie Lee Turrelle, one of the drag performers associated with the event.
After its first drag event in October 2022, vandals attacked the store in two separate incidents that left extensive damage.
During the first incident, an individual smashed the windows of the storefront and stole numerous items from inside.
In the second incident, Coby Green had lit a Molotov cocktail and threw it into the shop. Earlier this week, he pleaded guilty to the fire-bombing and was sentenced to five years in prison. Green received a lengthy sentence due to it being considered a hate crime.

Those involved with The Donut Hole and "The Queen's Dirty Dozens," say the arsonist plans backfired. They say they don't plan on leaving.
"We're here, and we're there, and we're everywhere, and we're not going nowhere. We're drag queens, you can't get rid of us just like that honey," Sasha Turrelle with "The Queens Dirty Dozens" told the station.
