Watch: Nearly 20 Brazen Flash Mob Thieves Ransack California Nike Store
Los Angeles police say the suspects were all between the ages 15 and 20
More than a dozen thieves were caught on camera ransacking a Nike store in California this weekend, and now police are searching for every single one of them.
About $12,000 worth of merchandise was stolen during the brazen flash mob-style robbery perpetrated by 17 individuals on Sunday evening, according to Los Angeles’s CBS affiliate KCAL News.
The Los Angeles Police Department said that the group of thieves consisted of four girls and thirteen boys, all between the ages of 15 and 20, per the station.
Video shows that the group was undeterred as it rampaged through the store and grabbed armfuls of merchandise from the store’s shelves. Some thieves grabbed so much that they dropped some of what they were already carrying.
Onlookers mocked and filmed the thieves during the robbery, but otherwise seemingly didn’t intervene.
Officers with the LAPD say that this isn’t the first time that Nike store location was robbed this way, according to KCAL News. Store employees even reportedly suspect that the same culprits have been hitting the store repeatedly.
