Criminal charges have been filed in northern New Jersey against a father and son — both employed as teachers — for possessing and viewing child pornography.

Sources tell The Messenger that Jeff Grossman, 65, and Steven Grossman, 24, were arrested following a months-long investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit.

The two men live in Tenafly and both men have been suspended from their teaching jobs within the Rochelle Park School District. The son was a substitute teacher for the district.

The Grossmans are charged with second-degree possession of child pornography, the source confirms. It was unclear who their lawyers are and plea information was unavailable.

In a letter home to parents, Superintendent Sue DeNobile confirmed the school board "immediately suspended both employees and directed them that they are prohibited from coming to the school for any reason and are prohibited from contacting any student or staff."

The elder Grossman also serves as the president of the Tenafly Borough Council, with a term set to expire in 2023.

Tenafly's mayor is calling on Grossman to resign, which he has yet to do, according to NorthJersey.com.
