A man in Nebraska who fled the scene of the car crash that killed his wife was found guilty on Thursday of manslaughter.

A jury in Douglas County District Court found Pierre Brayman, 39, guilty of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death and the manslaughter of his wife, who was in the passenger seat, local news station WOWT reported.

Brayman left his wife, Tiffany Brayman, 37, at the scene after their 2000 Ford F-150 crashed on Carter Lake Shore Drive on April 26. She had been ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, per the outlet.

Investigators said that he was driving the vehicle at a high speed in a 30-mile-per-hour zone before it crashed.

The vehicle “had damage to every body panel,” according to authorities, who also noted that there were “multiple Fireball cinnamon shooters laying on the ground and inside the F-150.”

The Metro Fugitive Task Force launched a manhunt that lasted around a month to find Brayman, whose license was also revoked at the time of the crash.

The Nebraska man reportedly went to his ex-wife’s house after the crash and told her that his vehicle crashed with Tiffany in it, according to court records.
