A 95-year-old man is accused of entering a Jackson, Mississippi, hospital and shooting his 92-year-old wife before fatally shooting himself, according to investigators.

The murder-suicide took place at around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Baptist Medical Center, local station WLBT reported.

Investigators said Cecil Ivey, the husband, died at the scene and his wife Loyce Ivey was later pronounced dead at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, according to the news station.

The hospital said no staff was involved or harmed in the shooting and their priority is on the “mental and emotional health and well-being of our staff and providing resources to help them deal with this trauma,” according to a statement provided to WLBT.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Cecil Ivey had been believed to be visiting his wife, a patient at the hospital, before the incident, the Clarion Ledger reported.
