Robert Davis allegedly murdered Josh Kruger on Oct. 2 after entering the 39-year-old's home
The teen suspected of killing a Philadelphia journalist has been charged with murder after turning himself in to police.
Robert Davis allegedly murdered Josh Kruger on Oct. 2 after entering the 39-year-old's home and shooting him, per Law and Crime.
The Philadelphia Police Department arrived at Kruger's home around 1:30 a.m. and found he had been shot 7 times. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
On Thursday, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office announced charges against Davis, which included murder.
Davis' family told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Kruger had sexual context with the now 19-year-old since he was 15. Kruger allegedly threatened to release “disturbing” videos, which may have motivated the murder.
Local ABC affiliate WPVI reported that drugs were found at Kruger's home and there were extensive text exchanges between him and Davis.
Kruger was a freelance journalist who wrote for the Philadelphia Inquirer, the nonprofit Philadelphia Citizen, Philadelphia Weekly, and LGBTQ Nation. He also worked as communications director for the Office of Homeless Services in the communications office of the City of Philadelphia.
