The five people who were shot at Morgan State University were "unintended targets" when gunfire erupted on campus Tuesday night.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley told the media Wednesday that an alleged dispute between two smaller groups on campus resulted in the gunfire that hit the five people who had nothing to do with the altercation, WBFF reported.

As of 10 p.m., Wednesday, there had been no arrests in the case. Worley noted, as cited by the station.

It is unclear how many people fired guns, which Worley said could be as many as three. Ballistics tests will determine how many guns were shot, he added.

Police released video of the suspects in hopes of tips that could lead to arrests.

The victims, who all suffered non-life-threatening wounds, ranged in age from 18 to 22.

University President Dr. David K. Wilson said the shooting took place during the annual coronation event for homecoming.

Morgan State University decided to cancel all classes on Wednesday out of an “abundance of caution” after the shooting.
