Vermont State Police confirmed the bodies found shot in a wooded Vermont area on Wednesday are those of two Massachusetts men who were earlier reported missing.

Their identities were confirmed by an autopsy, according to CBS News. Police said both been shot in the head.

Jahim Solomon, of Pittsfield, and Eric White, of Chicopee, both 21, were found in a rural wooded area in northern Vermont. Autopsies reportedly revealed that Solomon died from multiple gunshots to his head and White died from a single gunshot wound to his head.

Solomon's mother recently created a GoFundMe to help bring her son's body back home.

The men were first reported missing Oct. 15 after their families couldn’t reach them for several days, said police, who added that the men made stops in Burlington, Lowell, Morrisville and Stowe.

Police said the men disappeared under “suspicious circumstances” while making their way through those towns.

Police said that when they initially found the bodies, officials said they believed it was an isolated incident and that there was no danger to the public, according to WCAX. Officials didn’t indicate why the two men were traveling through Vermont, nor any possible motives for their murders.

Maj. Dan Trudeau, the commander of Vermont State Police’s criminal division, said the department has a few suspects and persons of interest, per reports. Trudeau said the state police will continue following up on leads and tips from the public, which are critical to the investigation.
