Minnesota authorities are investigating after three people were found dead at a popular resort Tuesday night.

Breezy Point Police Chief Brian Sandell said in a news release that officers responded shortly before 8:50 p.m. to the 8400 of Whitebirch Drive, where three people were found dead.

Sandell didn’t release the names of those deceased but said he didn’t believe there was an ongoing threat to the public.

It’s unclear how the three people died. Sandell said investigators are awaiting preliminary autopsy results.

The resort is in a popular vacation area about 150 miles from Minneapolis, the Associated Press reported.

“It’s a time-share resort that’s about a mile away from our property. We do manage it, but it’s a separate resort,” David Spizzo, assistant general manager of Breezy Point Resort, told the AP.

The multi-agency investigation remains ongoing.
