Man Found Guilty of Murdering Ex-Girlfriend in the Middle of Massachusetts Restaurant
Carlos Asencio was convicted of first-degree murder for fatally stabbing a former co-worker and ex-girlfriend a total of 58 times
A New Hampshire man who stabbed a Massachusetts woman to death in a restaurant four years ago has been found guilty of murder and now faces a life sentence in prison, local media outlets in Boston reported Wednesday.
Carlos Asencio, 32, was convicted of first-degree murder for stabbing Amanda Dabrowski, a former co-worker and ex-girlfriend, a total of 58 times inside O’Connor’s Restaurant and Bar in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 2019, Boston.com reported.
Prosecutors said Asencio also stalked Dabrowski for months prior to the murder.
He had also allegedly broken into her home and attacked her with a stun gun, and secretly attached a phone to her car in an effort to track where she went.
The two had first met while working for a pharmaceutical company and briefly dated in late 2018 and early 2019 before breaking up.
Asencio’s defense attorneys argued he was suffering from a mental health crisis at the time of the killing.
Asencio faces a mandatory life sentence for the conviction. He is set to be sentenced June 29.
