21-Year-Old Charged With Running $8.5M Magic Mushroom Business From Connecticut Home: Police

Police arrested a 21-year-old accused of running a multimillion-dollar magic mushroom business from his Connecticut home.

Weston Soule was charged with possession with intent to sell/distribute narcotics and operation of a drug factory after a tip came in alleging he was "operating a clandestine psilocybin mushroom growing operation" at his Burlington residence, Connecticut State Police said in a news release.

When detectives arrived at Soule's home Thursday, they allegedly discovered a "large mushroom growing operation" in the detached garage.

After obtaining a search warrant, detectives allegedly located a secret “mushroom growing factory” within the residence “with an estimated total street value of $8.5 million,” the release stated.Connecticut State Police
