A love triangle turned deadly after a man allegedly shot his lover’s husband in the back as he tried to walk away, killing him.

Erik Seitz, 36, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, St. Louis County jail records show.

It’s unclear if he entered a plea to the charges or retained an attorney to comment on his behalf.

Seitz is accused of fatally shooting 44-year-old Dennis Bieg near a park in St. Louis on Nov. 7, KSDK-TV reported, citing court documents.

Bieg’s wife, who admitted to being in a love triangle with both the suspect and victim, identified Seitz as the alleged gunman, per the report.

Seitz’s ex-girlfriend also alleged she witnessed Seitz shoot Bieg in the back as he walked away, "posing no threat" to the suspect, court documents cited by the outlet stated.

Seitz denied his involvement in the alleged killing, calling the witnesses accounts “inaccurate,” per the documents. Instead, he told investigators the victim allegedly hit him, causing him to black out.

He said he woke up in custody, where he “denied having shot the victim, and claimed he did not even possess a gun” during police questioning, the documents stated.

The plumbing company Bieg worked for confirmed his death in an "unexpected incident," the outlet reported.
