A homeowner’s X-rated Halloween display across the street from a Washington state elementary school is causing controversy.

The display in Lakewood, located just outside Tacoma, features skeletons in various sexual positions, which has led some Idlewild Elementary parents to complain that the holiday decorations are “inappropriate,” according to KIRO-TV.

The school says the homeowner has refused its request to take down the display.

The owner has now added a sign that reads: “Dear Karen, challenge accepted!! Next year try polite.”

The school has put up privacy fencing around its playground to block the view of the home.

In a letter to parents, the school said it had received many complaints about the display and it was working with police to see if anything could be done about the “obscene” display.

The display joins a list of other Halloween set-ups that have people upset.

A Utah city demanded that a resident take down a Halloween display that appeared to show a skeleton with a purple wig hanging upside down from a street sign as if it were a stripper pole.

A New Orleans area homeowner defended his display that features a beheaded Jesus.

"This is just decorations for fun. It's not a real Jesus. These are foam props that I made,” Vic Miorana said.
