For those who relish the idea of complete uninterrupted relaxation, Montenegro might just have the perfect competition for you.

The country annually hosts its "Laziest Citizen" contest in the holiday resort town of Brezna, CNN reported. Participants battle it out to determine who can lie down the longest without interruption. The lackadaisical contest was started 12 years ago "to mock a myth that Montenegrins are lazy," organizer Radonja Blagojevic said.

Twenty-one people initially vied for the title, while the number has dwindled to just seven. The contestants have been laying on the ground for at least 463 hours, already surpassing last year's record of 117 hours.

The laziest winner will take home 1,000 euros.

"All of us feel good, excellent, there are no health problems, they are pampering us, all we have to do is to remain lying down,” 2021 champion Dubravka Aksic shared with the outlet.

But what's the catch?

The rules are clear. Contestants can't stand or sit. If they break this primary rule, they're out. They're granted a 10-minute bathroom break every eight hours, and to stave off boredom, they're permitted to use laptops or read.

Would you compete to be the laziest?
