Krispy Kreme Van Raided by Hungry Mama Bear and Cub
The bears ate about 20 packages of doughnut holes from the idling delivery vehicle
Two black bears got away with a doughnut heist in Alaska, thanks to an idling Krispy Kreme delivery van.
A mama black bear and her cub were seen eating several doughnuts out of the back of a van that was making a delivery to a military base in Anchorage.
According to KTUU, the bears raided the van at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson when the driver left the door open when he made a pit stop.
“You could hear them breaking open the packages,” store manager Shelly Deano told the station. “We were trying to beat on the van but they just kept eating all the doughnuts.
“They ate 20 packages of the doughnut holes and I believe six packages of the three-pack chocolate doughnuts,” she added.
Deano was able to capture photos that Krispy Kreme Alaska shared on their Facebook page under the caption an "UnBEARlievable Krispy Kreme Alaska moment."
"One of our brave delivery drivers managed to capture this incredible moment on camera," read last week's post. "It's a reminder that our donuts are loved by everyone, even the wildlife!”

According to WTHR, security officers from the military base, where the store is located, eventually used sirens to scare the bears off.
Candice Sargeant, the general manager of the Krispy Kreme store, said this incident was a first in the business’ seven years.
“We’ll definitely be learning to slide up our ramp, close the doors, to ensure that bears don’t get back in there again,” she told KTUU.
After the heist, the Alaska Fish and Game Department noted that people should call 911 if they spot a bear outside of its natural habitat, and to talk quietly and not act suddenly.
