Israeli defense forces have confirmed an airstrike on three terrorist cells on the Lebanon border and, according to a report, a top Hamas commander is among the dead.

Israel's Channel 11 reports that Khalil Kharaz, the deputy commander of the Hamas Al-Qassam Brigades, was killed in the attack.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that four people were killed in the vehicle but did not give any further details.

The Palestinian official told the the Associated Press they were members of the Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing.

A video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, showed the smoking remains of the vehicle.

The Israeli military did not release specifics but said IDF aircraft “identified and struck three armed terrorist cells in the area of the border with Lebanon.”

It also said IDF fighter jets struck a number of Hezbollah terror targets, including military infrastructure and structures used for directing terrorist activity.
