Family and first responders started CPR but were unsuccessful
A Kentucky man is dead after he was attacked by a swarm of bees while trying to move an old bag of potting soil at his home.
The 59-year-old man had been trying to move the bag from the porch of his home in Harlan County on Monday when “he was stung by a swarm of bees from inside the bag,” according to a Facebook post by the Harlan County Coroner’s Office.
His family began CPR after the attack and first responders continued once they arrived on scene. The man was taken to the hospital in an ambulance but was pronounced dead in the emergency room by the deputy coroner.
The name of the victim has not yet been released. “Our heartfelt prayers go out to the entire family and friends,” the coroner’s office said in the post.
The man's death is being investigated by the deputy coroner.
