Jury Reaches Verdict in Murder Trial for Texas Yoga Teacher Accused of Killing Rival in Love Triangle

If found guilty of murder, Kaitlin Armstrong faces life in prison for killing cyclist Moriah 'Mo' Wilson

Kaitlin Armstrong’s murder trial kicked off Wednesday, Nov. 1, in Austin, Texas.Travis County Jail

A 12-member jury has reached a verdict in the love triangle murder case after deliberating for a little more than two hours Thursday about whether Kaitlin Armstrong brutally killed her rival, pro-cyclist Moriah “Mo” Wilson, last year.

The verdict will be read to the court at the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center in Austin, Texas, on Thursday.

Travis County Judge Brenda Kennedy allowed cameras inside her courtroom for opening statements, closing arguments and did so for the reading of the verdict as well:

For three weeks, the Travis County jury listened to a string of witnesses discuss the details surrounding the case, which alleged Armstrong was filled with jealousy after Wilson went swimming and had dinner with Armstrong’s then-boyfriend Colin Strickland.

Strickland, a star cyclist at the time, met with Wilson for a swim and a dinner out without telling Armstrong.

He was also the last person to see her alive.

Prosecutors alleged Armstrong shot Wilson twice in the head and then stood over her and put a third bullet into her heart after Strickland dropped her off at a friend's East Austin apartment.

Audio of Wilson's screams and the shooting, which was captured by a neighbor's doorbell camera and later revealed by The Messenger, was played for the jury during the trial.

Armstrong, 36, faces life in prison if found guilty.
