Police in Florida said they solved a mystery of stolen headlights on cars parked at an airport.

Jeeps parked at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) have been targeted over the past several months, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives said they watched “Jeep Creepers” Jonathan Quintero, 22, and Diogenes Morel Martinez, 25, steal headlights and grills from two Jeep Wranglers parked in a long-term parking lot at the airport Saturday.

Detectives trailed the pair as they left the airport and tried to commit a similar crime at Sawgrass Mills Mall. They were arrested on charges including armed burglary, grand theft and possession of burglary tools.

Detectives said both Quintero and Morel confessed to the crimes, and were transported to the Broward Main Jail.

They are believed to have stolen headlights and grills from dozens of Jeep vehicles parked at FLL, Miami International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport over the past few months.

Detectives with various departments continue to investigate incidents in an effort to link the pair to unsolved incidents.
