Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden was absent from the team's Wednesday practice and has not been present since Sunday, according to The Athletic.

Harden was reportedly in Houston on Wednesday morning, as he was when he missed Philadelphia's media day, per Yahoo Sports.

Harden missed a shootaround on Sunday and Monday's preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets, after which he did not return to Philadelphia with the team.

Harden requested a trade during the summer, specifically looking to play for the Los Angeles Clippers. He opted into his $35.6 million player option with the hopes that Philadelphia would trade him. The 76ers are still engaged in trade conversations with the Clippers, but not official offers have been made.

The 34-year-old's relationship with 76ers president Daryl Morey has soured, and Harden has called it irreparable.

Harden said that he intended to play for the team as he participated in Training Camp in Colorado. Since training camp started two week ago, Harden has participated in just one five-on-five live scrimmage, but has missed all three preseason games.

The 76ers open their season with a road game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 26.
