On Monday, the world was learning more about Saturday’s devastating surprise attack on Israel at the hands of Hamas terrorists. Israel’s death toll has risen to more than 900 killed so far.

More than 100 bodies were discovered in the small Israeli village of Bari by volunteers on Monday, meaning a tenth of the village's population had been wiped out by Hamas' attack. Children are said to be included in those who were slain.

Israel’s Defense Force has begun retaliating by bombing Gaza, where, so far, more than 560 Palestinians have also been killed, officials say.

The IDF says it has finally "retaken control" of settlements near Gaza. Israel declared a "total siege" on the area Monday, allowing no food, fuel, electricity, or drinking water in Gaza.

Israeli combat forces also clashed with the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement near the nation's border with Lebanon on Monday. Reports of a rocket barrage targeting northern Israeli towns and reports of sighted armed militants led to Israeli combat helicopters attacking sites near the border.

More is also being learned about the Supernova Sukkot music festival that was attacked by Hamas on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of more than 250 people.

One Israeli mother revealed that her 22-year-old daughter, who was at the festival, has since gone missing. The last words she heard from her from a phone call were "Mummy, what should I do?"

The missing woman's father and brother are searching hospitals, hoping that a brush they have with her hair in it can help provide a positive identification if necessary.

Another concertgoer shared harrowing eyewitness testimony of the festival attack and its aftermath. He claimed to have returned to the scene after the Hamas attack, finding bodies in various states of undress.

Other anonymous witnesses claimed that Hamas terrorists were capturing and raping women at the festival, sometimes raping them "next to their friends bodies, dead bodies." Several of the bodies left behind also were apparently shot at point-blank range, indicating the victims were executed.

Another 22-year-old woman, German-Israeli Shani Louk, has also been reported missing following the festival, but one video allegedly shows Hamas terrorists parading her naked body through the streets. A newly discovered video shows Louk happily dancing at the festival, and her family still holds out hope that she is possibly alive.

Stories of Israeli people bunkering down and surviving the attack have also surfaced. One British family hid for nine hours with their 10-day-old baby boy while Hamas fighters burned the rest of their house down and killed their dog. An elderly Israeli couple successfully stalled a group of Hamas terrorists who entered their home until police forces, which included their son, could rescue them.

Another Israeli woman recounted the terror her family endured when she and her two children holed up in a "safe room" for nine hours with her husband, who had to shoot at the terrorists, so his family could escape to safety. She says that one of the terrorists attempted to blow up the safe room door with a grenade.

Other harrowing stories have also emerged from the wounded nation. Intense video shows CNN's chief international correspondent Clarissa Ward and her news team ducking for cover in southern Israel while covering fighting in the area.

An Israeli father has also been pleading with Hamas militants for the safe return of his wife, mother-in-law, and two young daughters after viral videos showed them piled in the back of a pickup truck, surrounded by armed terrorists. He's even offered up his own life.

A 74-year-old Canadian peace activist is also feared to be kidnapped in Gaza, according to her family. Vivian Silver has spent decades working as a moderator on Israel's border with Gaza, and she is now missing, presumed abducted.

It was confirmed on Monday that nine Americans have so far been confirmed killed in the Hamas attacks over the weekend. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed the number to CNN. President Joe Biden later increased that number to 11.

For its part, Hamas has reportedly said that it is open to "any mediations" with Israel over ceasefire talk, but it has also vowed to execute its more than 100 hostages should Israel attack civilian homes in Gaza.

Hamas' surprise attack on Israel on Saturday is said to be the deadliest attack on the nation in decades. Israel's Defense Minister said on Monday that "we are fighting human animals, and we will act accordingly" in regards to the nation's response to Hamas.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that his nation is "just getting started" and Israel's response to Hamas with "change the Middle East."

President Joe Biden is expected to deliver a speech on the attacks on Tuesday.
