If They ‘Had Their Way’ Hamas Would Launch Second Holocaust: DeSantis
'Hamas must be no more at the end of this conflict,' said Florida governor
Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis said Saturday that Hamas would launch a second Holocaust of the Jewish people in Israel if "they had their way."
"This was the most deadly attack against Jews — since the Holocaust itself," DeSantis said in reference to the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel.
"If these barbarians had their way, they would try to do a second Holocaust right in our own time. That is the stakes of what we are facing with the Hamas attack on the people of Israel," he said in his speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Las Vegas.
DeSantis called for Hamas to be stopped now.
"Hamas must be no more at the end of this conflict," DeSantis said.
Some six million Jews were killed by the Nazi regime during the Holocaust. Since Israel and Hamas went to war at the beginning of the month after the Hamas attack, more than 1,400 Israelis and 7,000 Palestinians have been killed.

The Sunshine State governor has been outspoken about the conflict, slamming pro-Palestine student protesters in the US and threatening to revoke the visas of any foreign students who back Hamas if he is elected to the White House.
DeSantis says he supports Israel because it is in the country's "best interest" to back the US ally. It's the only country in "that region" that holds similar values to America, he emphasized.
