Body of Kidnapped Idaho Baby Found as Police Arrest Father Suspected of Murdering Mom

Police in Idaho have arrested a man accused of murdering his wife and kidnapping their 10-month-old son after a manhunt for the suspect and child, whose body was found at the scene of the arrest, police said.

Jeremy Best, 48, and the body of 10-month-old Zeke Best were found 36 hours after the boy was allegedly abducted by his father, according to local reports.

Police said Zeke was found deceased on the side of a road Saturday morning, near his still-alive father, KIFI reported.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office said they located Best after receiving a tip a naked man was hanging out near the road and “making odd statements.” Best was quickly identified and a search of his nearby car revealed Zeke’s body, officials said.

Best is accused of killing Zeke’s 38-year-old mother, Kali Jean Randall, in their Victor, Idaho, home on Friday. He's now been booked on a homicide warrant and will stay in custody until his arraignment.

The father allegedly abducted Zeke after the child's mother was killed. An Amber Alert was released for the infant boy afterward. Best was reportedly spotted walking naked through a store just hours before authorities discovered Zeke’s mother’s dead body.

He was evaluated and hospitalized over medical and mental health concerns, then discharged from the hospital by Thursday afternoon, according to East Idaho News.

Zeke’s cause of death has not been released yet, according to reports.
