Hospital Suddenly Has 10 Sets of Twins on Its Hands at Same Time in Potential Record

The Los Angeles NICU can't say for sure if 10 sets at once is some sort of record

Meet the Edelsteins: Diana and Jordan’s boy and girl are among 20 twins born at LA hospital at same timeCedars-Sinai

The medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's Hospital in Los Angeles have their hands full, with 10 sets of twins currently under their care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The twin baby boom is such a rare occurrence, the hospital made a video about it.

The hospital can't say for sure if 10 sets at once is some sort of record.

"We are very excited," said Ashley Richardson, RN, NICU assistant nurse manager. "We are used to twins and multiples but not this many at once, so it's keeping us on our toes."

The twins' birth weights range from just under 2 pounds to 6 pounds. Also worth noting? Most of the sets are double boys.

Diana and Jordan Edelstein were surprised when they found out they would soon be the parents of twins.

"I had always envisioned having boy and girl twins, and somehow, by the grace of God, we were able to have that vision come true," Diana Edelstein said in the video.

The twins were born early but are growing and should be headed home soon.

Having other parents around who are going through the same experience has been helpful, said Jordan Edelstein.

"I was surprised there were two, let alone 10 sets of twins, but it's been great to connect with other parents and see their journey," he said. "It's comforting to see so many other families experiencing the same thing."
