Hamas Promised Fighters $10,000, an Apartment if They Brought Back Hostages, Interrogation Video Reveals

In a newly released interrogation video, a Hamas fighter has revealed that the terrorist group promised militants $10,000 and an apartment if they brought back hostages to their commanders, according to a report.

The video, released by Israeli security agency, Shin Bet on Monday, shows a montage of interviews with six separate Hamas terrorists, according to The Jerusalem Post. 

The terrorists claimed they were all instructed to kidnap and kill, indiscriminately while taking over Israeli towns, but "whoever brings a hostage back [to Gaza] gets $10,000 and an apartment,” one man told the interrogator.

Another terrorist claimed he was scolded by his commander for shooting up a dead woman.

"Her body was lying on the floor,” he said, per the outlet. “I shot her, and my commander yelled at me for wasting bullets on a dead body."

Separately, another man described breaking into the homes of Israeli citizens.

“Inside there was one wounded man... I think a whole family — in their pajamas, the wounded man was in his underwear. A woman came out wearing a dress... then another with a dress. [Then] a boy and a girl."

In a further instance, a terrorist recounted the abduction of an older woman.

 "When I entered the town, I saw two [terrorists] on a motorbike,” he recalled. “They took a woman about 60-65 years old [with them] on the motorbike."

Later on in the video, the same man continued, “After Suleiman and Karem killed that woman from the town... they took someone, a man about 40-45 years old... and took him… to Gaza.”

The terrorists also detailed the tactics they used to lure victims away from bomb shelters, including by smoking them out, the outlet reported.

When asked by the interrogator if Islam permitted the slaying of women and children, the terrorists all reportedly answered the same: “No. Islam does not permit the killing of women and children."

On Monday, Hamas released two elderly female Israeli hostages, as the death toll on both sides surpassed 5,000.
