The estranged wife of Rex Heuermann had visited the suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer for the first time in jail since his July arrest, according to a new report.

On Wednesday, Asa Ellerup visited the 59-year-old ex Manhattan architect, whom she was married to for 27 years, at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, her divorce attorney, Bob Macedonio confirmed to Newsday.

When asked about the circumstances surrounding the visit, Macedonio stated he had “no further comment,” Newsday reported.

Heuermann has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello. He is the primary suspect behind the murder of a fourth victim, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, according to authorities.

“As per policy we do not release the names of visitors, but I can confirm that Rex Heuermann received a visit yesterday,” jail spokesperson Victoria DiStefano told the outlet.

DiStefano also declined to elaborate on the former couple’s meeting.

“Rex Heuermann is allowed the same visitations that all other inmates are entitled to. Visits are 1 hour and visitors are allowed to embrace once at the beginning and end of the visit. All inmates are searched after visits,” she said.

Ellerup filed for divorce from her longtime spouse and the father of her two adult children, less than a week after he was charged with the slayings of three female sex workers, whose bodies were found along the shore of Long Island’s Gilgo Beach.

Ten bodies in total have been found there since 2010, according to investigators.

Heuermann, whose next court date is slated for Nov. 15, has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

His defense attorney, Michael J. Brown, did not immediately respond to The Messenger’s request for comment.
