A former certified nursing assistant at a rehab center in Georgia has been charged with inappropriate sexual conduct with patients, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office. She is also accused of taking money from the patients.

Jessica Camp, 39, was arrested by the LaFayette Police Department and booked on first and second-degree improper conduct by an employee after being accused of having a series of inappropriate sexual relationships with her patients.

In at least two incidents, the defendant allegedly took advantage of disabled patients at a rehabilitation facility in the far northwestern part of the Peach State, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said.

Officials investigated PruittHealth in LaFayette after reports that (now former) Pruitt Health employee Jessica Camp was allegedly performing oral sex on residents.

A worker told investigators that a quadriplegic resident told him that Camp led him to believe that she and the patient were in a relationship. Per the report, the patient gave Camp $788  after she told him she needed money to pay her rent.

The patient, who now knows "Camp was willfully being deceitful," added that Camp also had a relationship with his roommate, who also gave her money.

After speaking to that patient, who was a double-leg amputee, detectives found that Camp had been asking the man for $750 to allegedly fix her car. In return for the money, Camp allegedly performed oral sex on the patient, who said "that he figured he got his money's worth as many times as she [performed a sexual act]."

Both patients said they did not want to press charges.

According to News Channel 9, investigators also found that Camp had other run-ins with the police. She was arrested in May after showing up impaired at a person’s house.

Sgt. Nichols Terry with the Lafayette Police Department shared that as a result of her prior arrest, Camp was on probation. Officials thus charged her with probation violation due to the new charges.

She also pleaded guilty in November after being accused of drug charges and biting a corrections officer.

PruittHealth confirmed Friday that Camp had been fired. It issued the following statement from Pruitt Health about the allegations.

“Pruitt Health is deeply concerned and saddened by the allegations involving a former employee at our LaFayette location. The care and safety of our patients is our highest priority. Upon learning of the situation, we self-reported the concerns to police and state officials. The employee was immediately suspended and subsequently terminated.”

The incident follows others connected to Pruitt Health. According to News Channel 9, three years ago, two employees from a different Pruitt Health location were arrested for elderly abuse.
