As many as 70 generators were stolen from the Trump National Doral golf course in Florida ahead of a LIV golf tournament.

The Doral police chief said the thieves posed as construction workers to access the site around 5 p.m. Monday and load dozens of generators into a white pickup truck.

‘The incident that occurred in the daylight was an area that was not secured,” Police Chief Edwin Lopez told WPLG-TV.

But he said the thieves weren’t done. They came back after dark with a box truck to steal more of the generators.

“During the evening hours, they actually cut some fencing and were able to access the same area,” Lopez said.

A LIV Golf tournament is scheduled at the course from Oct. 20-23.

Police have not made any arrests in the case, but said they have some leads. They think the thieves are linked to other crimes in the area.
