Freak Waterskiing Accident Kills Groom Just Three Days After Wedding

A man who recently got married died just three days after the wedding in a freak waterskiing accident, according to a GoFundMe post. 

Nate and Mariana Kuhlman, from Ohio, got married on October 28 and traveled to St. Lucia for their honeymoon, where Nate died while waterskiing on October 31, the GoFundMe says. 

The GoFundMe has raised more than $45,000, which will go toward covering “expenses of last-minute plane tickets to St. Lucia and back home, immediate passport issuing, transportation, accommodations, meals, funeral arrangements, Mariana's needs and anything else that comes up,” the post says. 

Local NBC affiliate WFLA reported that a second GoFundMe was set up. 

“Nate was a wonderful husband, friend, son, and brother in Christ,” that second GoFundMe reportedly says.

“He was able to thoughtfully encounter every person he met and those who had the blessing of a relationship with him would be able to tell a list of stories detailing what a fun, kind, and adventurous soul he was," the post continues.
