Fox News Runs Surprise Interview Plugging Right-Wing Boycott Target Bud Light
'People can crack a ... Bud Light and celebrate their freedoms,' urged former fighter pilot Lt. Col. Dan Rooney
Fox News provided a surprise support platform for Budweiser and boycott target Bud Light this week in an interview with the founder of a nonprofit that provides scholarships to the families of deceased military members thanks largely to generous donations from the beer company.
Folds of Honor founder and CEO Lt. Col. Dan Rooney told Fox and Friends that he launched the organization after contacting Anheuser-Busch to partner with the brewing company.
The former fighter pilot pointed out that Anheuser-Busch has donated some $22 million to the organization over the last 13 years.
The company currently sells limited-edition patriotic-themed bottles of its two flagship beers, Budweiser and Bud Light, which include a QR code allowing buyers to learn more about Folds of Honor.
“People literally can crack a cold Budweiser, a Bud Light and celebrate their freedoms but also provide educational scholarships to the military and first responder families who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms that we enjoy,” Rooney said.
A "great, easy way to say ‘I love my country,’ is crack a cold Budweiser and support a military or first responder family,” he added.

Conservatives called for a boycott of Bud Light after the brand collaborated with transgender actress and social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Some Fox News personalities have also criticized the brand for the advertisement campaign.
Bud Light beer sales have been hit hard by the boycott.
Sales have been so impacted that two glass plants in North Carolin and Louisiana will shut down in mid-July, and lay off close to 645 employees, WRAL in Raleigh reported.
