A Florida woman is facing multiple theft charges after she was caught slamming booze from the wine section of a Publix without paying for it.

Emily Rachel McPherson, 35, allegedly visited the Publix in Osceola Hills several times where she would drink a product but not pay for it.

According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, McPherson, who is originally from Wisconsin, was caught on security cameras arriving at the store, drinking a liquor bottle or package, and then placing the empty product back on the store’s shelf.

The first time, McPherson arrived at the store at around 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 14 and headed for the wine section. As reported by Villages News, she grabbed a four-pack of Ranchola Gloria pre-made margaritas and a Bota Pinot Grigio from the shelf before chugging one of the small bottles of wine. She placed the empty bottle back on the shelf but did not pay the $13.49 for the merchandise.

The following day, McPherson was caught on surveillance footage repeating the activity. At around 8:30 p.m., McPherson took two four-packs of Ranchola Gloria and a mini Bota Pinot Grigio and went to an aisle without cameras. A store employee found the beverages’ empty packages later that night. The products had a total value of $22.48.

McPherson completed the same scheme several more times in August. She was released on a $3,000 bond.
