Florida Man ‘Launched’ Into Garbage Truck During Trash Pickup Gone Wrong

A Florida man is likely down in the dumps after being accidentally "launched" into a garbage truck during a pickup on trash day.

A Waste Management garbage truck was making pickups along its normal route in a Pensacola neighborhood on Jan. 9 when the driver approached a dumpster, according to a report from the Miami Herald. He then used the truck's apparatus to lift and empty out the contents into the truck.

What the driver was unaware of was that there was a person inside of the dumpster and was "launched" into the truck as the dumpster was being lifted, according to a statement from Escambia County Fire Rescue.

The unidentifed person was trapped inside until emergency responders arrived at the scene.

“With the use of ladders inside the truck, firefighters were able to safely rescue the patient,” reads the Facebook post from fire rescue officials. “Once secured, the patient was transported to an area hospital.”

The individuals condition was not immediately known , nor was the reason why they were in the dumpster at the time.
