Florida Man Charged With Murder Weeks After Wife’s Body Found in His Storage Unit
Shakeira Rucker was last seen by family members on November 11
Prosecutors in Florida have formally charged a man with second-degree murder after police found his wife's body in his storage unit last month, the prosecutor’s office said on Friday.
Cory Hill, 51, was charged in connection with the death of Shakeira Rucker, 37, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Rucker was last seen by family members on November 11 and she was later found later that month at a storage unit owned by Hill in Apopka, Florida, after a worker at the storage complex reported a “smell emanating” from the unit.
Authorities said that Rucker suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
After the formal Friday charge, Hill will remain in jail without bond while investigators continue to build a case for a potential first degree murder indictment in Rucker’s homicide, according to the Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
Hill was arrested in November for attempted second-degree murder after he allegedly shot multiple rounds at his ex-girlfriend Angel Milligan and her family.

He was already being detained over that shooting the same day he was suspected of killing Rucker.
“We acknowledge the heightened public interest in this case. However, it remains an open and active investigation and we are limited in what we are able to release at this time,” said the state attorney’s office.
