Florida Man, 73, Charged With Killing Landlords Over Plumbing Repair Dispute Turned Deadly
Miguel Fiallo was arrested and is being held without bond at the Broward County Jail
Miguel Fiallo of Hollywood, Florida, was arrested on two counts of premeditated murder for allegedly killing his two landlords over "problems" with plumbing and electricity repairs according to local authorities.
The 73-year-old reportedly had ongoing issues with his landlords that spilled over into his surrounding community. A neighbor who was present during the alleged shootings said Fiallo was "always argumentative" over the repairs.
"He shot at (the landlords) because we have had problems in the past," the witness told authorities, according to the affidavit obtained by FOX35.
Police were called to an apartment for a reported medical emergency on Nov. 6, per the affidavit. The caller was not at the scene, but she reportedly told police she received a call from her mother, who was at the scene and told her there was a shooting and two people were injured. She said her mother sounded panicked and was having trouble breathing.
When officers arrived at the scene, two dead bodies were lying in the doorway to a converted garage. The deceased woman had multiple apparent gunshot wounds.
The affidavit stated that Fiallo and an unnamed person were in the driveway when police arrived. Police found a 9 mm handgun on top of a nightstand at Fiallo’s residence, along with a box of ammo missing 12 rounds, which was found in the top drawer of the nightstand. Officers also found five shell casings near the victims’ bodies that matched the type of handgun in Fiallo’s apartment.

According to the affidavit, detectives tried to speak with Fiallo, but he said, "Anything he says can be used against him.”
The witness, who later spoke with detectives, reported that after returning home around 4 p.m., she assumed both landlords were present, as their cars were in the parking lot. Shortly after entering her residence, she heard nearby gunshots.
Reacting quickly, she grabbed her purse and phone and ran towards her car, according to the affidavit. While sitting in the passenger seat of her vehicle, visibly upset, Fiallo reportedly approached and began to console her.
