Idan Amedi, the star of Netflix's "Fauda" currently serving as an Israeli military reservist, says he will be OK after he was injured in an explosion inside Gaza on Monday.

The update on the wounded actor's condition was relayed through an Instagram post on Wednesday from Yehiel "Hili" Tropper, a member of Israel's Knesset.

"Idan Amedi requested two things during the visit today. Firstly, to say thank you to everyone who is concerned and wrapping him with love. Secondly, that we don’t fall apart inside," Tropper wrote in the post.

"And in Amedi’s words: 'Bro, forget me, I’ll be okay. What’s important is that we stay strong together.' What a guy. Get well soon, dear Amedi."

A preliminary investigation by the Israel Defense Forces found that Amedi and 13 other soldiers were wounded and six more were killed during a friendly fire incident, as the army prepared to blow up a Hamass tunnel and missile factor in Gaza’s Al-Burij neighborhood.

The initial IDF probe found an Israeli tank crew protecting the soldiers fired two shells at what they saw as a potential threat in a nearby apartment building, but one shell knocked over a utility pole, which then hit a demolition trip wire, setting off the charges the soldiers had just set.

Amedi had given an interview to Israel's N12 shortly before the incident, appearing optimistic for his country in the continuing war against Hamas.

"I'm fine, a little tired," said Amedi in Hebrew, adding: "The nation of Israel is alive. We work hard here for everyone's safety. We love you. There are so many forces here, amazing people, it's a little strange that you were attracted to me. I love you at home."

A post from a "Fauda" social media account on Monday announced Amedi had been injured in action, describing the actor as "one of the kindest, warmest, and most passionate people, loved by all of us."

"We ask that everyone respect the privacy of him and his family at this time," the post said. "Together let us pray for Idan’s full and quick recovery 🤍."

Fauda, created by former IDF soldiers Lior Raz and Avi Isaacharoff, stars Raz as a commander in the IDF's Mista'arvim undercover counter-terrorism unit.

The series has faced criticism for its depiction of the ongoing conflict, though it remains among the most popular shows in Israel.
