‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Joins Search for Rachel Morin’s Killer, Says Haircut Might be a Clue
'With that haircut, he might be military,' Dog the Bounty Hunter noted in his analysis of the surveillance footage showing the suspected killer
The ongoing search for the man who murdered Maryland mom Rachel Morin has attracted a famous bounty hunter to the case — and he believes the killer could be affiliated with the military.
Duane Chapman, TV's "Dog the Bounty Hunter," has stepped up and is now assisting in the search for the suspect. Chapman discussed his involvement during an appearance on NewsNation this week.
While talking to Chis Cuomo, Chapman also utilized his unique brand of deductive reasoning to highlight some potential caused from surveillance footage of the suspected killer, previously released by the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The video — taken during a home invasion in California that happened earlier this year and allegedly involved the same individual Maryland police believe ambushed Morin on Maryland's popular Ma and Pa Heritage hiking trail last month — does not show the shirtless man's face, only his side and the back of his head.
Investigators have said they suspect the man is Hispanic and in his early to mid-20s. He is estimated to stand 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds.

Based on the footage and that fact that the Maryland and California incidents unfolded not far from military bases, Chapman posited that the man in the video could be a soldier.
"Because he's Latino, everyone wants to say he's from Mexico," Chapman told Cuomo in video posted to his Facebook page. "But with that haircut, he might be military."
Authorities have not yet been able to determine the suspect's identity, and do not believe the 37-year-old mom of five knew her killer, who likely acted alone. Detectives have not commented on a possible motive for Morin's murder.
Morin was reported missing by her boyfriend on Aug. 5 after she failed to return home from her evening jog on the popular Ma and Pa Heritage hiking trail in Bel Air, Maryland. Less than 24 hours later, her body was discovered by member of the community.
Chapman also commented that the killer was partially undressed. "Rapists usually don't get completely undressed, and it looks like he did."
The reality star also noted it looked like the man was carrying his cell phone, and that authorities could use tower data to pinpoint who was in the area at the time.
A GoFundMe page campaign continues to raise funds for Morin's funeral.
